Suidi Hashi graduated from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Resources and Development and Minor in Management. She is currently employed at the Metropolitan Council as well as a Lead for America Fellow. In her role at the Metropolitan Council she works as a program specialist supporting the Environmental Services division’s strategic goals around diversity, equity and inclusion in the workforce and the region. As a Lead for America fellow, Suidi has received significant training at Harvard University, Tufts University, Georgetown, and UNC Chapel Hill on local government, leadership, diversity, inclusion, and equity-related initiatives to utilize in her current role at the Metropolitan Council. In her role she has received accolades for her involvement around workforce development, diversity, equity and career-related outreach work with Metropolitan Council (Divisional Keystone Awards, State of Minnesota Governor’s Award, and recognition from the National Association of Clean Water Agencies). In her volunteer time, Suidi is very involved in the local Somali community supporting and working alongside youth programs and advocacy work around housing and racial equity.

She currently works as a Families Case Manager at Model Cities of St. Paul. In her role, Muna supports families with developing goal plans to sustain a livelihood from providing home visits, aftercare,
Muna Ali graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelors in Family Social Science and a Minor in Family Violence Prevention. She currently works as a Families Case Manager at Model Cities of St. Paul. In her role, Muna supports families with developing goal plans to sustain a livelihood from providing home visits, aftercare, psychosocial assessments, support groups, parenting education, and many other services. Muna also has many years of experience working with Somali youth. For several years, Muna volunteered as an after-school youth mentor at Brian Coyle Community Center in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood. During her time at Brian Coyle she developed a Girls Group program, tutored elementary school kids, created and chaperoned on various activities and field trips.

Jamal Adam is an Achievement Specialist at Wayzata High School. In this position, he works with students of color to provide them an extra layer of support. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Religious Studies. He is on the CommonBond Communities Board of Directors, working to build stable homes, strong futures

He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Religious Studies. He is on the CommonBond Communities Board of Directors, working to build stable homes, strong futures, and vibrant communities. A Public Allies AmeriCorps alum, having worked as a Community Specialist for the CORE program at the University of Minnesota and as an Associate Teacher at SUN Academy. He is also a Roy Wilkins Community Fellows graduate having developed skills to help him conduct high-quality, objective policy analysis—while keeping race and ethnicity at the center of the conversation. He is passionate about education and housing policy and working to change these systems so that they are equitable and just.
